Emily-EnglishTeacher

Hi, I’m Emily!

I’m not your typical mom blogger (spoiler alert: I’m not a mom at all). Instead, I’m the fun aunt who’s always got glitter glue, flashcards, and a sneaky plan to teach the kids something new. I’m also a certified ESL teacher with years of experience working in educational districts, designing programs for immigrant families, and teaching kids from all walks of life.

My background isn’t just shaped by my professional work—it’s also deeply personal. My grandparents’ stories of immigrating to the U.S. inspired me to value culture, language, and the power of education. Growing up bilingual, I learned early on how language connects us to the world, and I’ve spent my life chasing that connection—through travel, teaching, and a lot of trial and error.

I’m from Asheville, North Carolina… a smaller, artsy town with a strong sense of community, making it a great fit for someone who’s passionate about education, diversity, and connecting with families from various backgrounds.

Over the years, I’ve traveled to 27 countries, soaking up different cultures, languages, and teaching methods. I’ve taken what I’ve learned abroad and brought it home to my classroom and my big, noisy family. Now, I use those experiences to inspire the ideas and strategies you’ll find here at Crazy4Study.

Why It Works

Crazy4Study is about turning what feels like a chore into something kids look forward to. It’s about meeting them where they are (even if that’s mid-tantrum), embracing their quirks, and helping them see learning as an adventure instead of an obligation.

I believe learning should feel like an adventure, not a chore. Kids learn best when they’re having fun—and Crazy4Study is all about making learning joyful, engaging, and just a little bit magical. Whether it’s turning spelling practice into a treasure hunt or sneaking in math during snack time, I’m here to help you bring out the best in every little learner.

Why Crazy4Study Exists

Crazy4Study was born from my passion for making learning fun for kids, especially those who might find it harder to sit still, focus, or keep up with traditional methods. Whether it’s learning new vocabulary, building confidence in English, or discovering the joy of reading, my goal is simple: to help kids get excited about learning, no matter where they start.

As a specialist in special needs education and a certified ESL instructor working with foreign students, I’ve seen firsthand how a little creativity and patience can transform a child’s learning experience. I’ve worked in educational districts, designed language programs, and spent countless hours figuring out how to make lessons stick—even for kids who’d rather be doing anything else.

A Personal Note

There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to teaching kids. Every child is unique, every learning journey is different, and every success—no matter how small—is worth celebrating. I hope Crazy4Study becomes your go-to space for ideas, inspiration, and a little humor to keep you going on those tough days.

So whether you’re a parent trying to teach your kid the ABCs, a teacher searching for ways to keep your classroom focused, or an aunt like me who just wants to help, welcome to Crazy4Study. Let’s make learning something kids actually get excited about!

Love,
Emily

PS you can get in touch, if you really must (just kidding I’m an introvert but super friendly especially if we don’t have to talk face to face… how am I a teacher if I’m not extroverted? Well I’ll tell you a secret, not all kids are extroverts either, and introverted kids need support too.
